Description

Asphalt - Urban GT 2 is a racing game that was designed for the Nintendo DS and intended to deliver some pretty intense races. It features several game modes, loads of cars, police chases and, of course, nitrous.

It’s very nice if you’re good with emulators

To be able to play Asphalt - Urban GT 2 you need to load it into an emulator first. DeSmuME works well with it, but you do need to tweak it a bit because there’s a chance you’ll end up with some really low-resolution graphics.
Passed that, you can enjoy a good deal of race modes that are sure to keep you interested in the game. In a lot of ways it resembles NFS Underground with similar race modes and car customization, but without any of the ‘darkness’.

Fast-paced gameplay that’s well suited for a racing game

As far as the actual racing is concerned, Asphalt - Urban GT 2 plays nicely. Handling is different from car to car but generally, it’s quite chaotic and wildly unrealistic. It’s one of those racing games that you master in a very short while without really feeling like boredom is about to make an appearance.
Mistakes don’t cost you very much, so crashing is OK as long as you have some NOS to use to get back in first place. Mind the cop cars though, they can hinder your chances of winning a game no matter how well you play. The best thing to do is to get that monster lead we all want.

It’s good, for the Nintendo DS fans

All in all, there are plenty of other choices to take into account before getting to Asphalt - Urban GT 2 but it’s still worth playing. It’s a piece of gaming that matters.
