Description

The gaming industry will never come short of offering truly challenging games for us whether it’s by implementing a new and complex mechanic or other means of innovation. However, some rely on very basic gameplay and yet somehow manage to make you pull out your hair at times thanks to how difficult they can get.

Find your way out through a challenging maze

HASTE is a game that relies on a very simple concept and manages to turn it into a nerve wrecking experience (in the good way). At the start of the game you find yourself somewhere in a high-tech institute where something bad is going on.
With no time to waste, you immediately start to find your way out of that place because it seems to be under siege by an unnamed enemy. The entire idea of the game is that you have to run, jump and find your way across various types of obstacles without dying.
The latter can occur by contact with poisonous water, electrocution or plain simply by being smashed to pieces by falling debris. Your only advantage, and a very clever one at that, is that as you run, time slows down by a considerable amount. This way you have some time to figure out what you want to do, although, chances are it won't be nearly enough.

Restart, repeat, improve, it’s the only way

Unless you’re a god of freerunning and parkour with exceptional qualities in finding the quickest way out of a maze, you’ll restart the game a lot. There is no checkpoint to enjoy so every time you mess up, you start all over again.
You’ll feel like stuck in a time loop but that just means that you’ll be able to perfect your technique with each try. The game doesn’t have a multiplayer feature but if you want to challenge a buddy the game logs time so you can definitely check to see who’s quicker.

Worth a shot if you have patience and determination

On a closing note, HASTE is that kind of game which you want to tackle if you know you're the type to stick with it until it’s finished. The game is tricky and designed to challenge you, which is great.
