Description

Even the simplest video games have the power to provide you with a few minutes or even hours of entertainment, depending on what you are looking for. However, it’s also worth mentioning that a lot of work goes into simple video games as well, especially if the developers try to provide the audience with a piece of their imagination.

Explore a maze and try to figure out its secrets

The Cube is an exploration/puzzle game in which you have to find your way through a maze and figure out how to solve a couple of riddles along the way. It’s not a new concept, but everything goes pretty well together, and you can lose yourself completely inside the game for a short while, which is exactly what you might need after a stressful day.
To begin with, the adventure starts in a jungle, and you are standing at the entrance into what appears to be some kind of weird temple. The temple in question is actually a maze, and it also contains a few secrets that require your full attention in order to be understood. In addition, there’s also a glowing cube you have to carry around and use at some point, which is yet another conundrum.

Decent graphics and tough puzzles

It can be pretty difficult to find your way around the many corridors of the temple sometimes, but that’s the fun part of a maze. On the other hand, the repetitive level design makes it a tad more difficult to enjoy than usual, but you can get over it after a short accommodation period. Moreover, the puzzles play an important role in the grand scheme of things, because they keep you engaged.
As for the graphics, the game is designed in Unity, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it looks fairly nice, even if it features few assets. The level design is neat, and you can tell that the developer has put some work into it. Moreover, the controls are pretty smooth as well, even if object handling feels rather stiff sometimes, such as when you have to walk around with The Cube in your hands.

A short game that helps you to relax

When it’s all said and done, The Cube won’t change your opinion on life and all that, but it’s relaxing enough to help you clear your mind after a hard day. In addition, it’s also free of major bugs and glitches.
