Cisco Snmp Tool Description

Cisco SNMP Tool provides you with a set of comprehensive network configuration tools designed to help you manage Cisco devices and generate virtual network maps for both LAN and wireless networks.
The main purpose of the Cisco SNMP Tool is to provide you with a simple solution for managing and monitoring network-attached devices that support the SNMP protocol, such as routers, servers, workstations, modems or printers. It supports Cisco IOS version 12 or above.
In order to add a new device, you are required to enter its IP address, the desired timeout and retry intervals, as well as the SNMP password (in the 'Community' field). There are various actions that you can perform using Cisco SNMP Tool, such as sending ping requests or Telnet commands to the target host, write the NVRAM execution, reboot the device, reset its password or change its download and upload configurations.
The 'Billy Network Designer' application can be used for creating map interfaces and verifying the status of network devices. The map can include routers, L2 and L3 switches, wireless and DSL devices, servers and PCs.
The 'Edit' mode enables you to place devices on the map (using 'drag and drop'), create connections, view and modify the device information, edit and backup device configurations. All the saved backups can be accessed from within the 'Cisco Backup View' window, allowing you to quickly load the desired one.
Switching to the 'Monitor Mode' enables you to check whether network devices are online or not by periodically sending ping requests (every 10 seconds, 1 or 5 minutes). If the target device is not responding or is unreachable, the application immediately notifies you.
Additionally, the program comes with a backup scheduling tool and a syslog and debugging console that displays the packet debug messages.
Considering the above, Cisco SNMP Tool is an utility that comes in handy to any network administrator. It enables you to visualize the network structure and quickly take action when a device is unresponsive.
