Easy Karaoke Recorder is a lightweight Windows application whose purpose is to help you play karaoke files and record your voice.

User interface

You are welcomed by a simple GUI that embeds only a few configuration settings. Karaoke files can be added in the working environment using the built-in browse button (you cannot rely on the drag-and-drop support).
Easy Karaoke Recorder works with several file formats, namely MP3, WAV, WMA, RM, AVI, WMV, MOV, and MPG.

Playing and recording options

The program offers you the freedom to view the file duration directly in the main window, check out a history with all played files, as well as start or stop the current item. You can also change the recording and volume control.
Easy Karaoke Recorder lets you preview the lyrics or video streams in a dedicated panel, perform searches for quickly identifying a file in the history, save the recordings to WAV or MP3 file format, as well as change the looks of the tool using different skins.

Performance

The utility hasn’t been updated for a long time and it shows. We have tested it on Windows 8.1 Pro and come across several bugs. All tasks are executed very slowly. Plus, we have experienced several crashes. The tool eats up CPU and memory, so the overall performance of your computer may be hampered.

Bottom line

All things considered, Easy Karaoke Recorder is not one of those advanced karaoke players that can be used by DJs at parties, as it provides a basic feature pack for playing karaoke files and recording your voice. In order to compete with other powerful karaoke players, it needs functionality and GUI improvements.
