EventLogSourcesView Description

EventLogSourcesView shows all event log sources installed on your computer and gives you the possibility to analyze information, such as the name and full path of each file. This is an easy-to-use and portable application.

No setup required

It's wrapped in a portable package, which consists of a single executable file. No other DLLs are necessary, and the tool doesn't create new entries in the registry. You can save the EXE anywhere on the HDD or on a USB flash drive to directly launch EventLogSourcesView on any machine.

View, find, copy and save event source details

The main app window has a neatly organized layout, where all event sources are listed, along with the event type (e.g. application, system, Windows PowerShell), DLL or EXE files containing the event message strings, time of last modification in the registry, product name, company, file description, version information obtained from the DLL or EXE file, as well as whether or not there are missing files.
Information can be sorted by taking into account any of these criteria. You can quickly find a specific entry using a basic search function, show grid lines, mark odd and even rows, display time in GMT, as well as copy or save data to file with the txt, CSV, HTML or XML format.

Evaluation and conclusion

The software utility worked smoothly in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM. It didn't hang, crash or prompt error messages. Another aspect worth mentioning is that command lines are available for advanced PC users who prefer the console window to the graphical interface.
To sum it up, EventLogSourcesView facilitates a simple and effective method for viewing, analyzing and exporting event log information, and it can be used with ease by anyone.
