Free FLV to MP3 Converter is an application with a pretty self-explanatory name - it allows you to extract the audio stream from FLV files and store it to the MP3 format.
The interface of the tool is based on a plain and simple window. Importing videos can be done by using either the file browser or "drag and drop" method. It is possible to create a queue and process multiple videos at the same time.
In the file list you can find out the name, source format and location of each video. Since Free FLV to MP3 Converter comes with limited features, all that you can do is specify the output folder (same as the input file or custom) and proceed with the encoding operation.
During the conversion procedure, you can check out a progress bar on the current file and all of them. Once all videos are converted, a notification dialog is displayed to inform you of the success or failure of the tasks.
The audio extraction program runs on a low-to-moderate amount of CPU and system resources. It finishes a task in a short while, has a good response time and delivers a good sound quality in the output audio tracks. No error dialogs have been displayed throughout our tests and Free FLV to MP3 Converter did not freeze or crash.
On the downside, Free FLV to MP3 Converter does not let you configure audio settings (e.g. bit rate, quality, channel mode, volume) and cannot be set to open the output directory after conversion. Plus, you cannot preview tracks in a built-in audio player and trim them. There is no help file available. Free FLV to MP3 Converter automatically renames files if they already exist. No recent updates have been made.
