Kalkulator Description

Surely you don’t take the time to manually perform calculus of different financial reports if they’re important, or contain a lot of numbers. If done on a computer, Windows provides a pretty powerful calculator to help you out, but there are tons of alternatives out there like Kalkulator which aim to be better at it.

Can be used on the go

On the one hand, the application skips you the time and effort needed to go through a setup process to enable all functions. As such, you can deploy it on a thumb drive to use on other computers as well, without having to worry that the target PC gets affected, because registry entries don’t need to be modified in this regard.
Running the application might not make quite the impression because of the rough design. Unlike others of its kind, it puts two input fields at your disposal, while a third one is used to show the result of the operation between the two numbers. What’s more, there aren’t any numerical buttons, so you need to use the keyboard for input.

Comes with a poor set of features

Unfortunately, you need to make sure only numbers are written down to avoid error, because input fields aren’t limited to numerical characters, and you can just as well write symbols, and letters, but this only results in error.
Furthermore, the list of operations at your disposal is rather poor. It only allows you to add, subtract, divide, multiply, or generate the square root. If you want to further process the result, it needs to be manually copied back into an input field. Last but not least, saving also needs to be done through the copy operation, and history of processes isn’t saved either.

To end with

In conclusion, Kalkulator doesn’t quite live up to expectations, coming with a lot less features even than the default calculator Windows provides. There’s no scientific component, while the lack of numerical keypad makes it unusable on touch supported screens. History is not tracked, and export of results needs to be done manually.
