Mass File Mover

Mass File Mover is a file copier that gives you the possibility to transfer all files and subfolders from one directory to the other, or just to copy the empty folder structure.
It offers support for multiple threads. Contrary to what its name may suggest, the tool doesn't implement a file moving option (it cannot automatically delete the source files after copying them).

The installation procedure is fast and the only notable aspect about it is that you need .NET Framework installed to run Mass File Mover. It's packed in a plain and simple interface, made from a standard window with a clear-cut structure.

Copy files or empty folder structures

After indicating the source and output destination, you can instruct the tool to copy all containing files and subdirectories, or to just clone the tree view by creating empty folders and skipping all files. It's also capable of erasing all any contents that exist in the output directory before proceeding with the task. Plus, you can specify the number of copy threads.
During the file transfer you can check out log details and find out the number of items left in the queue to copy. Apart from the fact that you can cycle through multiple themes for the interface, there are no other notable options available.

Evaluation and conclusion

Although the app hasn't been updated for a while and the interface looks rudimentary, it carries out file copy jobs without any issues. It didn't hang, crash or prompt error messages in our tests. Moreover, it didn't put a strain on the overall performance of the machine, since it needed low CPU and RAM to work properly.
All in all, Mass File Mover may not be as feature-rich as other software applications in this category, but it offers a straightforward and effective solution for copying files and folder structures with minimum effort.
