The Modify Profile Utility includes all of the functionality of the Newprof.exe tool, as well as enhancements for appending to existing profiles. The utility references a user’s existing Outlook configuration as it creates an Outlook profile or modifies an existing profile.
You customize parameters in a settings file (for example, Outlook.prf) so the utility creates the appropriate profiles for your organization. Information that you include in the settings file determines the name of the profile file to use, and the actions that the utility will take. Outlook services (such as Exchange Server, address books, and so on) can be added or replaced while preserving a user’s existing configuration.
