Quicknote

Quicknote is a simple app that lets you write notes to remind you of important tasks and upcoming events. It can be seamlessly handled by users of any level of experience.
The interface of the program is based on a common window whose appearance is not impressive but its layout is simple to figure out.
Aside from the main note area where you can write tasks with the highest priority, Quicknote provides two other categories, by default - Personal and Professional notes; each of them has its own set of quicknotes.
However, users have the possibility of creating as many categories and quicknotes as they want, thanks to the options displayed in the context menu.
In addition, you can sort items in the list, rename or delete entries, as well as use a search function. It is also possible to edit the preferences of a note. For instance, it is automatically saved internally, but you can save the note to an external file instead, which can be either text or image.
An important feature of Quicknote involves a voice that reads text aloud; this option is available through the context menu of the text editing area. Plus, you can convert measurement units and use some standard functions, such as Undo, Cut, Copy, Paste and Select All.
The simple-to-use program is pretty low-demanding when it comes to the CPU and system memory, has a good response time and works well. We have not come across any issues throughout our testing; Quicknote did not hang, crash or alert us of any errors. There's also a help file with video demonstrations available.
On the downside, the application has not been updated for a pretty long time. But, even so, Quicknote integrates some simple tools for creating notes on your desktop.
