Regedit Disabler is a small-sized and portable application that enables you to deactivate the Registry Editor, in order to prevent other PC users from accessing it to modify system registry settings that may cause OS stability issues. Otherwise, you can use to to re-active Registry Editor if it was previously disabled with another program.

Portable tool with a simple GUI

The entire program's wrapped in a single .exe file that you can copy to a preferred directory on the disk or to a USB flash drive, in order to run it on any computer with minimum effort and no previous installers. It doesn't need DLLs to run or create files on the disk without asking for your permission. A basic file deletion is enough to remove it from the HDD.

All you have to is click the button in the middle of the frame to immediately activate or deactivate Registry Editor. This task is carried out swiftly, after which the app displays a notification message to let you know it was successful. Once disabled, you can attempt to access Registry Editor to see if the tool worked.
Worth noting is that administrative rights must be applied when launching the application, otherwise it won't work (clicking the button doesn't do anything).

Evaluation and conclusion

It worked smoothly on newer Windows models in our tests, although it hasn't been updated for a long time. It didn't put a strain on PC performance and executed commands rapidly. Thanks to its straightforward options, Regedit Disabler can be tackled with ease by anyone.
