Some audio players managed to gather enough reputation throughout the years, and some still live on today. It’s also the case with Winamp, which encourages individuals to create custom content, thanks to plugin support for nearly every element it has to offer. For instance, Skywalker2 provides a set of effects for songs, such as delay, reverb, and crosstalk cancellation.
Since Winamp is the only suitable host for this plugin, it needs to be installed on the target computer. The plugin setup phase requires only little time, and effort, with all features accessible from Winamp’s properties panel, under the DSP/Effect plugins section.
Choosing to configure the plugin is the way to make the control panel show up on the screen. It doesn’t interfere with Winamp’s main window management, but offers real-time feedback from the moment it’s put in motion.
Three different effects can be configured to enhance playback. Accessed from separate tabs, these provide a 3-tap delay editor, 6-band FDN reverberation, as well as crosstalk cancellation. All of them are activated, and turning on off simply means moving sliders to the lowest value.
Changes can be reset to the default configuration at the press of a button.
