VJC

VJC is a small software application that allows users to compress image files before saving them to JPG format.
The user interface is really simplistic and it definitely appeals to beginners because it doesn’t bundle many configuration settings. It supports a large list of file formats such as JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG and TIFF.
The main window is minimalist and is split into two dialogs. The first one allows users to drag and drop the files directly into the dedicated menu, while the second displays a preview of the compressed image. It is also possible to add files using the built-in browse option. VJC is only able to work with a single photo and it doesn’t support batch processing.
Once you have dropped the image into the main window, the program automatically displays a preview with the compressed photo before saving it. You are allowed to save the new file as JPEG provided that you have added a file name and output destination. The preview mode can be enabled or disabled on the go.
There are only a few configuration settings and these are meant to make the entire process even easier. The compression process can be configured in terms of quality and maximum size. However, if you decide to go for a low compression level, the final image quality may not be the best.
Overall, VJC is a handy tool that can be used to compress image files before saving them to JPG format very easily. It cannot be described as the most powerful conversion and compression tool as it only bundles a few features for dealing with such tasks. However, the overall simplicity of the app perfectly fits its purpose. It’s easy to work with and it has a good response time.
