WMPCDText Description

WMPCDText is an easy to use tool that allows you to view more details about the CD tracks when you are using Windows Media Player to listen to music. The addin should enable the player to display the track name and artist during the playback.
If you are using Windows Media Player as your default music player you might have noticed that it does not display the track information for all discs. This is valid mainly for homemade CDs but you might encounter the same situation even for the ones you buy from the store.
Since other media players are able to retrieve the metadata, this addin is designed to provide the same functionality for the Microsoft’s music player. It requires minimum configuration and allows you to view the song name instead of simply reading the track number.
After installing the plugin, the name of each song should be automatically displayed when inserting the disc in the drive. By default, WMPCDText reads the metadata from each track and uses it when ripping the music to your hard drive.
If you want to manually retrieve the details for each track, you can deactivate the automatic detection from the Plugins tab. Additionally, the plugin can correct the case by turning all-caps details to small caps and only capitalising the first letter of each word.
Although it might not seem like an important improvement this compact tool allows you to know exactly which song is playing without looking on the case. Moreover, this plugin enables you to correctly name the files when you are ripping the CD to your hard drive which can save you a lot of time.
If Windows Media Player is having problems in reading the song titles from your CD tracks, you should try WMPCDText before entering the details by yourself.
