Mineclone

Mineclone is exactly what you think it is, a Minecraft inspired game or rather an Infiniminer clone. This little thing allows you to generate small worlds in which there’s not a lot of exploring to do but instead there’s plenty of building that can take place.

Everything you need for building is at your disposal

In Mineclone there is no procedurally generated open world for you to lose yourself in, there’s just a relatively large patch of random terrain that is created whenever you start a new game. The worst part about it is that it’s not large enough to build something really big, like a castle for example.
The randomized land looks really nice most of the time and takes a few seconds to take shape. After that, you can freely roam around and start building. Collecting materials is out of the question because everything you need is provided and in infinite supply. There are over 40 types of blocks from several categories and with them you can certainly build a good looking fort or a nice little house. Or, whatever comes to mind that would fit in the available space.

There’s really not all that much to do, but it’s free

Mineclone’s (probably) biggest feature is that you don’t have to pay for it. It’s a free little game that provides some of the charm you can find in Minecraft. Visually, it’s decent but there is no crafting, and the block-menu-like thing that stands in the upper left corner is just annoying.
Apart from the classic terrain Mineclone can also generate an equally small patch of Skylands that is rather appealing and worth experimenting with.

A nice little creation but very limited

Mineclone is a good example of a training ground. In it you can test out various builds and save them for later use. But that’s all you can do in it. Oh, it also crashes a lot.
