Description

Mini-golf is a pretty interesting game, mainly because it requires a lot of concentration and a great deal of patience. Although it’s obviously not as popular as regular golf, you can still find many people who are quite the mini-golf fans. However, you can get away with it much cheaper if you try a video game instead of the real thing, not to mention the fact that you can take your time.

Many different courses to tackle

Mini Golf 3D 2 is an arcade simulator that allows you to enjoy the sport without going to an actual course or spending a lot of money. However, you should obviously not expect a realistic experience, given the fact that the game is fairly basic when it comes to the physics engine and everything else for that matter. Even so, you can have some fun with it.
To begin with, each level is unique when it comes to layout and the challenge you have to undertake, but the goal is the same: get the ball to the hole. The other obvious goal is to take as few shots as possible, otherwise you lose points if you miss too many shots. On the other hand, there are no clear penalties, so you might as well enjoy yourself.

Poor physics and very basic graphics

The actual simulation is the worst part of the game, given the fact that the ball reacts pretty wildly to your input. Speaking of which, all you have to do in order to take a shot is move the mouse to set the direction and hold the left mouse-click until the power bar reaches the desired levels. It’s difficult to predict the ball’s behavior, on the other hand, which is not good in a game that should technically reward strategy.
Lastly, the graphics are not particularly impressive either, and they can actually be a bit of a bother sometimes. It’s not the visual quality that bothers the most, but the extremely repetitive level design. There are only a handful of environmental objects included in the game, and each stage feels like the previous one with a different maze. Naturally, this kind of ruins the atmosphere in the long run.

A poor sim that needs some work

In the end, it’s difficult to see any good in Mini Golf 3D 2, but you can still have a few minutes of fun under the right circumstances. Moreover, the short levels get easier to swallow once you learn how to deal with the broken physics simulation.
