Description

Ping Pong 3D is exactly what the title says minus the 3D part. It’s actually a Flash game that lets you play some ping pong against an AI controlled second player.

A simple game of Ping Pong and that’s it

The game starts by displaying a nice red paddle, a swirling title and two really useful hints which tell you to hit the ball on the right side of the paddle to make the ball go right and the left side if you want it to bounce to the left.
Apart from that there are three buttons which allow you to choose the difficulty level and another that actually starts the game. The rules are the same, score is kept up to 21 and you win by 2, the rest comes down to accurately hitting the ball.

Back and forth until one of you, actually just you, messes up

Serving is done automatically and always the same, so that’s one challenge you’re spared of, and after that you just need to not land the ball outside the table perimeter. Using your mouse you control the paddle on the screen but that only applies to the X and Y axes.
There is no back or forward movement for the paddle to consider and you don’t even hit the ball by clicking. You let it hit the paddle and watch it ricochet back to the opponent’s side of the table. To make things easier, the paddle is about halfway transparent. However, in its simplicity, Ping Pong 3D is actually tough if you pick the third level of difficulty because that AI shows no mercy.

All in all, it’s good, but barely so

To end, if you’re looking for an easy to play and absolutely casual Ping Pong game that will run on just about any PC, Ping Pong 3D is a safe choice. It won’t offer much so expect less.
