SAS: Zombie Assault 2

SAS: Zombie Assault 2 is a game that exploits an already overflowing game concept but since it was released back in 09, maybe it deserves a bit more credit. It’s an action game that has you as a lone soldier who must survive a seemingly never-ending invasion of zombies.

A game that might leave you with index finger soars

SAS: Zombie Assault 2 is a top-down shooter that makes use of both keyboard and mouse when controlling the character. Your battle ground is a large building in which zombies enter through every doorway and window opening they can find and you have to blast them to pieces before they shred you to bits.
You’ll have to simultaneously move the soldier from one zombie entry point to another, repair broken barricades, reload your gun and keep an eye on the radar to see where another breach is located, all while frantically pressing the mouse button to shoot. The faster you click, the quicker you empty your mag and the zombies go down. However, even though it’s fun, there’s just so much bullet after bullet manual shooting that you can do and your finger might start to hurt after a while.

Fight zombies with guns, more guns and bigger guns

In SAS: Zombie Assault 2 zombies come in constant waves. Each wave brings more zombies and once in a while new and tougher kinds make their way to you. It wouldn’t be fair to totally crush your finger constantly using a handgun to fight so after a few waves, you can unlock new areas of the building and with them come automatic weapons.
There is a wide range of guns to buy, each one great in disintegrating zombies but they all cost money. So, apart from spending to upgrading your barricades, you will also have to think about which guns to buy. Things don’t necessarily get easier with a new gun but they surely become more interesting and fun.

A good casual game to spend some time with

Being a rather old Flash powered game, SAS: Zombie Assault 2 doesn’t provide all that much in terms of gameplay and graphics. Nonetheless, it’s still a decent game to have around for those times when you feel like challenging yourself to a zombie survival run.
