Hence, whether you are in for a short session whenever you have a few spare minutes, or you want to put some serious time into getting the best scores, platformers are always there when you need them.

Use knives to kill enemies or to help you climb things

Save the Ninja Clan is a 2D platformer in which you play as ninjas trying to rescue their friends and save the clan from extinction. The gameplay mechanics are simple and fast-paced, but you still need a bit of practice before you are able to move quickly enough. Speedruns are encouraged and facilitated, but you can also take your time and explore each level at your own pace.
As mentioned before, there’s not much of a story, but at least you get to play with multiple characters. In essence, each ninja has a different color, and they also come with different abilities, which allows you to experience the gameplay in other ways. Granted, don’t expect to be flabbergasted by the generous variety, but at least you won’t get bored too quickly.

Difficult levels that require good coordination

As for the stages, most of them challenge you to move quickly and precisely at the same time, which is no easy task. In essence, there are all sorts of traps that have oscillating parts, which forces you to stop and analyze the situation before jumping head-first. On top of that, there are also enemies you have to deal with, although it’s also possible to simply avoid them entirely.
Boss fights are part of the picture as well, and you can even purchase various types of knives to help you along. As mentioned before, these knives come in handy in other situations too, such as when you need an extra platform to reach higher ground. Lastly, the graphics are not bad at all, but they won’t impress anyone either, at least not when it comes to artwork.

The perfect cure for a boring afternoon

In the end, Save the Ninja Clan is a polished platformer with enough levels and features to keep you busy for a while. It needs more work before it can be called a complete game, but you can enjoy it even now for a few hours.
