Say you live in world where all the electricity is generated by a single corporation that uses robots to do all the work. Then, let’s assume that one day those robots start to kill the human workers and begin plotting to take over the world.
This is where you come in Mr. Drew Knight. You are humanity’s last hope, a cyborg that has been equipped with the latest weapon, one that can control electromagnetic fields.

Smash or slam your enemies to pieces

Drew Knight can use both brute force and the energy around him to easily destroy the hostile robots. However, that awesome power with which he is gifted, must be used with caution because it might cost him his life. His entire body is powered by the built-in energy core and each time you perform an electromagnetic attack, it is partially drained.
Your energy level is highlighted in the suit using color signals but it’s not a specific count that is displayed so you need to constantly be aware of how much you have left. This Slam Junk! mechanic works very well and is a great idea since it increases game difficulty and forces you to plan your fights as well as possible.

A game that takes a bit of time to get used to

All in all, Slam Junk! looks very good, animations are smooth and most of the stuff simply falls really well into place, from both plot and design points of view.
One thing you will struggle with at first are the controls. While there are a few keys to use, you will find that some of the moves you want to make turn out to be a bit more than you wanted. For example, walking very close to a ledge might turn out with you stepping over it.

A really nice game to try out if you’re looking for a new challenge

On a closing note, Slam Junk! is a solid game. Sure, it does need some improvements here and there but overall, it’s a product that’s well above average. A lot of work has been put into designing it and you can see that in all the details, efects, puzzles, physics and everything else. It’s definitely worth your time.
