In a lot of cases a decent amount of enjoyment can be delivered through a small package game. Such is the case of Warfare 1917, a tiny Flash powered game in which you will be able to create an army and send it into battle.
Simple gameplay for anyone to enjoy
Warfare 1917 uses a gameplay style which has been applied before, it’s not all that innovative but it does add some new elements. The goal for each map remains the same, create an army from multiple types of troops and march them into battle in order to conquer the enemy trenches.
This is not an RTS game, you will create a group of units with one click and issue the attack orders with another. Each trench you control can keep a maximum of three types of units so you need to think well what you want to use so you can both defend and push into the enemy territory. A fourth group will enter the battlefield and since there is no place for them in the trenches, they will advance into enemy territory and if you’re not careful, they will be wiped out.
Use the weapons available in Word War I
Warfare 1917, as it’s title would suggest, takes you into the era of the first World War so you won’t have a large variety of units to choose from .You get basic infantry, grenadiers, snipers and a tank. In this aspect the game loses some charm but it does make it up with the available fire support options.
The latter allows you to initiate suppressing fire on the enemy by dropping mortar and artillery shells at an area. As you would expect in real life, the shots aren’t 100% accurate so you might end up completely missing the adversary or blasting them to pieces in one shot.
A nice game to keep you busy for a couple of hours
To sum things up, Warfare 1917 won’t provide a plethora of units and attack strategies. It’s has basic and limited gameplay which makes it enjoyable but less than other similar games, and despite all that, it might just help you lose a couple of hours from your day.
