Some users may be familiar with a limitation of the 64-bit editions of Windows 7 and Windows Vista, namely the fact that the 64-bit mode of the Windows Sidebar is started automatically by default. Because of this, some desktop gadgets cannot be run.
64 to 32 Sidebar is a gadget that enables you to switch between the 64-bit and 32-bit versions of the Windows Sidebar at any time. It is displayed on your desktop, and it allows you to perform the switch with just a couple of mouse clicks.
This utility makes it possible to install and run widgets in 32-bit mode even on the 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and Windows Vista, the aim being to ensure maximum compatibility.
Once installed, 64 to 32 Sidebar can be found on your desktop in the form of a small gadget. It lets you know which version of the Windows Sidebar is running at present, and it enables you to switch to the other version at any time.
The gadget can be moved to any position on your desktop, so as to keep it out of the way when not needed, and you can also change its opacity if you wish to make it less obtrusive.
