7files is an intuitive file manager whose purpose is to replace Windows Explorer. Wrapped in a comfortable and user-friendly interface, it lets you navigate disk directories and conduct file searches while applying various filters to narrow down results.
The setup operation is simple enough, thanks to the fact that the tool contains only familiar options. Once finished, you are greeted by a large window with shortcuts to each local, network, removable and optical drive.

You can explore folders and view the name, format, date of modification, and size of each file, create new folders and cut, copy, paste or remove files, as well as enable the search function in the current location and apply filters when it comes to the date, file type, and extension.
In addition, 7files integrates a feature which allows you to easily create shrotcuts to files by dropping them in an upper bar within the main application window. There are no other notable options provided by this software application. The context menu is the same as in Windows Explorer.

Evaluation and conclusion

We haven't encountered any unpleasant surprises in our tests as far as stability is concerned, thanks to the fact that 7files didn't freeze, crash or display error dialogs. It used low CPU and low-to-moderate RAM, so it didn't hamper system performance.
On the other hand, we expected richer features from a file manager that claims to offer an improved browsing experience overall. Nevertheless, you can test 7files for yourself to find out whether it meets your requirements or not.
