ABC Amber BlackBerry Editor is designed for users who need to manage contact information in BlackBerry Backup files (IPD format).
The program sports an intuitive set of options that can be adjusted by all types of users, regardless of their level of experience.
Setting up the app takes little time and minimum effort. Its GUI is made of a standard window with a well-structured layout, where IPD files can be opened using either the file browser or drag-and-drop support.
Apart from editing entries when it comes to the contact's name, email address, workplace and home information, it is possible to add new ones and include notes and ID photos. Information can be saved to file as well as printed.
ABC Amber BlackBerry Editor offers multilingual support and allows you to disable the toolbar and skin. It can be minimized to the system tray, in order to become non-intrusive. Plus, you can deactivate history saving and confirmations for removing a record.
We have not experienced any issues during our tests, since ABC Amber BlackBerry Editor did not freeze, crash or display error notifications. It is very responsive to commands and leaves a minimal footprint on resources consumption.
Although it is not the most resourceful tool for adding and editing BlackBerry backup files (for example, it does not integrate an option to automatically synchronize data when the BlackBerry is connected to the computer), ABC Amber BlackBerry Editor serves its purpose and can be used even by novices, thanks to its overall simplicity. Unfortunately, the tool has not been updated for a very long time.
