Acker DVD to AVI Converter Description
Acker DVD to AVI Converter is an application designed to help you encode DVDs to video files of multiple formats, including AVI, WMV, 3GP, VOB and MPG. It can be used by both novices and experienced individuals.
The interface of the program is clean and intuitive. You can import a DVD into the queue by using either the file browser or treeview, since the "drag and drop" method is not supported. Batch processing is allowed.
In the list you can check out the name, along with original and trimmed length of each video. So, all you have to do is specify the output destination and profile, in order to proceed with the encoding job.
But you can also modify audio and video settings when it comes to the resolution, bit rate, volume and channel mode, as well as preview clips in a small, built-in media player and trim them by marking the start and end position or values.
Furthermore, you can select the audio track and subtitle stream, merge and crop videos, take snapshots, as well as apply effects (e.g. brightness, contrast).
The DVD conversion software requires a moderate amount of system resources, has a good response time, takes reasonable time to complete a task and didn't freeze, crash or pop up errors during our testing. On the other hand, there is no help file available and the image quality of the output clips is not very good (plus, the videos don't run smoothly). We recommend Acker DVD to AVI Converter with reservations.
