AeroSnap Description

Windows 7’s Aero Snap feature is already one of the most appreciated features in this last version of Microsoft’s operating system, but those using older iterations can now enjoy this utility too.
It’s called AeroSnap and it is a tool especially designed with a single goal in mind: bring the aforementioned tool on Windows Vista and XP.
The way it works is basically the same as on Windows 7: just drag the windows to a side of the desktop to resize or maximize them on the go, but this also depends on your configuration settings.
AeroSnap keeps an icon in the System Tray, but this can be quickly disabled from the settings screen. What’s more, it supports hotkey and preview, with the latter only available on Windows Vista with Aero enabled.
Basically, windows snapping can be done to any side of the screen, except for the bottom of course, since that’s the original position of the Windows Taskbar. You can configure left, top and right snapping from the same options screen, but also enable snapping only if a hotkey is pressed.
The app works smoothly on Windows Vista, but Windows XP users cannot enjoy the preview feature because no Aero system is available on this particular version.
One of the drawbacks however is the overall RAM usage, so AeroSnap may slow down the workstation a little bit.
But overall, it’s pretty clear that this is one of the apps that let you enjoy the latest goodies developed by Microsoft without actually installing the newest operating system.
