AKick Watermark Creator Description
One of the best ways to your photos from being used by others without permission is to apply watermarks before sharing or publishing the pictures. Complex image editors can be used for this purpose, but a lot of simpler alternatives are also available.
AKick Watermark Creator is a straightforward utility that allows you to apply signatures and image logos to your photos. It can certainly get the job done, but it is rather poorly designed and lacks many important features.
Basic watermarking utility that does not support batch processing
The application is only capable of applying watermarks to one image at a time, so it may take quite a bit of time to process the contents of your camera’s memory card. It certainly does not help that drag and drop actions are not supported.
When it comes to importing files, it is worth noting that the application allows you to work with several popular image formats (JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF and TIFF), but it would have been great it more were supported.
Offers limited functionality
Once you have loaded the photos that need to be processed, you can either insert a logo from a local image file or enter the text that should be used as a watermark.
However, the customization options that are available are not particularly extensive or intuitive. Fine-tuning the position of the watermarks is quite difficult, and you cannot preview their arrangement in real-time.
Moreover, we ran into an issue when attempting to load an image file that contained a translucent logo, as the transparent objects were not imported correctly.
Rather difficult to use and lacks adequate documentation
While the application is designed to provide you with a simpler alternative to complex editing tools, it is not exactly intuitive. A detailed user manual would have been very helpful, but no local documentation is available.
Furthermore, the program does not save your current settings when it is shut down, and you cannot create templates for specific jobs.
All in all, AKick Watermark Creator is an unimpressive application that needs to be improved in many respects if it is to become a good alternative to other popular watermarking utilities.
