ALARM

Alarm is a tiny software tool which was designed in order to help individuals set an alarm or shut down their computer at a user-defined time.
This is a portable utility, meaning you are not required to install it. You can copy the program files to any location on the HDD and simply click the executable in order to run it. You can also drop the last mentioned files to a USB flash drive, so as to use Alarm on any computer you can connect to.
It is also important to keep in mind that the Windows registry and Start menu/screen are not going to be modified in any way, and no leftovers will remain after its removal.
The interface is plain and only contains a few drop-down menus and buttons. Due to its simplicity, any type of user can get around it, without confronting difficulties of any kind.
It encompasses a 12 hour clock, which means you should pay attention when setting it, so as not to configure it wrongly by mistake. Aside from that, the current time is displayed in the main window and can be read out loud in particular circumstances.
Help contents are not provided, yet it is quite clear they are not actually needed, while CPU and memory usage was insignificant in our tests. This means running other apps in the same time, will not affect your computer’s performance.
Taking all of this into consideration, we can say Alarm is a pretty decent piece of software. However, its lack of options might turn away some users and the interface could benefit from a little bit more work.
