Aldo's MouseKeyboard Description
Aldo's MouseKeyboard is a feather-light and portable software utility that facilitates a virtual keyboard on the screen. This can be of assistance when your physical keyboard is no longer working properly, or if you want to enhance your security and prevent hijackers from acquiring login or credit card information when entering it online.
Old, yet functional tool
The software product hasn't been updated for a long time and doesn't work well on newer Windows editions. However, it still runs fine on older versions where the operating system doesn't have a built-in virtual keyboard.
Simple and straightforward virtual keybaord
The interface of Aldo's MouseKeyboard is represented by a horizontal frame with a simple design, showing a QWERTY keyboard with the alphanumerical characters, symbols and functional keys. There is no number pad available.
Moreover, the window stays on top of the panels of other running applications, and this option cannot be disabled. Plus, the window cannot be minimized to the systray or taskbar.
No installation is necessary
The program's based on a single .exe file that can be saved anywhere on the computer or stored on removable storage devices to directly run it on any PC without setup. It doesn't modify Windows registry settings or create files on the disk without your permission. To remove it, it's only necessary to delete this executable file.
Evaluation and conclusion
We've encountered compatibility issues with the latest version of Windows in our tests. It popped up errors and quit to the desktop whenever we clicked a button inside the virtual keyboard.
On the other hand, it worked flawlessly on older Windows, so you can definitely give Aldo's MouseKeyboard a shot if you're running an older hardware configuration. It used minimal CPU and RAM in our testing. It can be handled with ease by all sorts of users, even the ones inexperienced with virtual keyboard software.
