Alduin Description
Despite the plethora of ways of staying updated and informed about the subjects we're most passionate about nowadays, news readers still offer one of the most accessible and easiest ways to so.
Alduin is a simplistic and user-friendly, Electron-based piece of software that allows you to aggregate information from a wide variety of sources.
Get started with this simple RSS reader in practically no time
Firing up this unpretentious RSS reader is hardly challenging since it only requires you to download it, unzip its package and launch it via its designated executable file.
Since the application boasts a very novice-friendly and modern-looking user interface and since it is not stacked with features, you should be able to learn the basics of working with Alduin in mere minutes.
Alduin sports a basic layout, like most other RSS readers out there. On the left side of the main window, you have all your sources, in the middle you can find all the news from the selected feed, while the right side acts as a preview panel.
Stylish and very functional UI with smooth transition effects
As with all apps of this sort, you will first need to add some RSS feeds. Hover with the pointer over the left side of the main window and you are bound to discover the app's useful retractable menu.
You can add new sources by clicking the plus shaped button, force fetch new articles, delete already existing sources, access the app's Configuration section or lock the side menu in place.
Uncomplicated and useful RSS reader that might not fit the bill when dealing with large numbers of feeds
At this point, it should be clear that Alduin is not your full-featured news reader. Sure, the application works well, has a modern and stylish interface and it also comes with support for native system notifications, but this might not be enough for everybody.
For example, this app does not provide you with any features for organizing or grouping the sources. Even more unfortunate is the fact that it does not offer any choices for how the information is or should be presented.
