Analog Clock

Analog Clock is a small Windows desktop enhancement program that helps you place an analogue clock on your desktop.

The advantages of being portable

Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.
You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to place an analogue clock on the screen on the breeze, without having to go through installation steps.
This is a Java-based utility, so you should make sure your have previously installed the working environment on your computer; otherwise you cannot run the tool.

User interface

By default, Analog Clock reveals the analogue clock in a minimalist panel. You are allowed to resize the main window to fit your viewing needs and even maximize it. The clock can be moved to the desired screen area.

Performance

The lack of configurable settings can be good news for beginners, as they can learn to master the entire process with minimum effort. During our testing we have noticed that Analog Clock carries out a task quickly. It doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not affected.

Where it falls short

On the downside, the utility doesn’t offer support for advanced features that could help you choose between different themes in order to change the layout of the clock, alter the background color, set up alarms, switch to a digital clock, view the time for different zones, and play hourly chimes using preset and custom audio files, just to name a few suggestions.

Bottom line

To sum things up, Analog Clock proves to be a simplistic clock and time management program that comes bundled with limited features in order to help you place an analogue clock on your screen.
