Anna

Anna is a tiny and portable piece of software that enables you to quickly randomize text to create anagrams. It does not come equipped with complex features or configuration settings, so it can be handled even by those with little or no experience in software utilities.

Portability advantages

Since installation is not a prerequisite, you can drop the executable file in any part of the hard disk and just click it to run.
There is also the possibility to save Anna to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and without previously installing anything.
An important aspect to take into account is that the Windows registry and Start menu do not get updated with new entries, and no extra files are created on the HDD, leaving no traces behind after removal.

Simple interface and options

As far as the GUI is concerned, Anna adopts a single window that provides direct access to all options. All you have to do is specify the source text and click a button to scramble the letters into an anagram. Results are shown instantly.
Although Anna does not integrate buttons for saving data to file, copying it to the Clipboard or printing it, it is possible to make a text selection and copy it to the Clipboard by using the global hotkey or via the right-click menu. There are no other notable options provided by this software utility. Its biggest disadvantages are that it cannot create a list with multiple anagrams, or use a dictionary to form real words.

Conclusion

The tool has minimal impact on PC performance, since it runs on low CPU and memory. There were no kind of issues throughout our evaluation, as Anna did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. Although it gets the jobs done quickly, the tool comes packed with a limited set of features.
