Audio Switcher Description

Audio Switcher is a small-sized and portable application that facilitates immediate switches between audio devices from the system tray area.
For example, it comes in handy when broadcasting movies from the computer to the TV via HDMI cable connection, in order to quickly toggle between the PC and TV audio sources.
Since installation is not prerequisite, you can drop the executable file anywhere on the hard disk and just click it to run.
There is also the alternative of saving Audio Switcher to a USB flash drive or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any workstation easily, without prior installers.
What's worth mentioning is that the tool does not create new registry entries or extra files on the HDD (aside from an INI file), leaving no traces after program removal.
The interface is made from a standard frame that's broken down into four tabs for selecting playback and recording devices, editing properties, and viewing product information.
Audio Switcher does not close on system tray by default, so make sure to enable this option to establish quick access.
The same set of options is applicable to both playback and recording sources. You can select a device and set it as default or default communications device. It can be marked as favorite and automatically enabled at startup. Plus, you can assign hotkeys to the devices.
The program may be scheduled to run at Windows boot until further notice. It supports a quick switch mode and can check for product updates regularly. Moreover, hotkeys can be edited or disabled.
Audio Switcher uses a barely noticeable amount of CPU and RAM, and it has a good response time. We have not come across any problems in our tests, since the tool did not hang or crash. In a nutshell, Audio Switcher represents a quick method to toggle between playback/recording devices, backed up by hotkeys and a system tray icon.
