Aunsoft VidPie Description
Say you just grabbed a video from the web to build a presentation or extract the sound, but the format is not supported by the tools on your computer. In this event, applications such as Aunsoft VidPie are a suitable candidate when it comes to converting different types of multimedia files, but it also looks good.
Clean interface and performance options
On the one hand, the window structure is not built on the classic frame, with all elements wrapped in high-quality textures, blurry background, and polished buttons. Whenever you need some extra info, a tooltip decides to follow your cursor and displaying the function name or description.
The main window looks clean, and somehow manages to display the necessary set of file info like title, duration, and size, with the possibility to bring an additional sidebar up with the full file description. Managing to reach the Options menu unveils a set of technical options. As such, you can choose between an Nvidia CUDA GPU, or the ATI equivalent. The number of cores and processors can be set, as well as the output folder.
Multiple file types and quality settings
File support is neat, with the possibility to both import and export the same number and type of files. Selecting from audio and video formats like WMV, MP4, M4P, MOV, AVI, ASF, MPG, 3GP, MKV, as well as WAV, AAC, OGG, WMA, MP3, AC3, FLAC, MKA, AU, M4A, and AIFF, can be done either through the browse dialog or dragging one or more files over the main window.
After files are added, you can select the video or audio format. Clicking a file type gives you access to all codec setting, sample and bit rate, number of channels, and more. Sadly, there aren’t any editing options related to the quality of sound and picture, like cropping or cutting, and neither can you split or join files.
Putting the process in motion takes advantage of the system configuration from the options menu, and converts all files to the desired location and format. The process runs smooth and consumption is really decent, considering the cool looks.
In conclusion
To sum it up, Aunsoft VidPie is a result of some good programming skills that managed to combine some neat visuals and animations, with a balanced or powerful conversion process, keeping consumption and standard levels. File support is neat and can satisfy even some sophisticated demands.
