Autostitch Description

Autostitch is a lightweight Windows utility built specifically for helping users create 2D panoramic images by stitching several photographs together.
Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry. You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you to need to create 2D panoramic photos.
It sports a clean and simple layout that gives you the possibility to upload files into the working environment using the built-in browse function, so you cannot rely on the “drag and drop” option.
On the downside, Autostitch offers support for a single file format, namely JPG.
As soon as you add the selected images, the application automatically designs the 2D panoramic photos. Hence, it doesn’t create a list with the uploaded files, and doesn’t let you insert or remove the images.
Compared to the primary panel which is pretty plain, the configuration window offers several dedicated parameters to tinker with. Autostitch allows users to select the output size, blending method (none, linear, or multi-band), enable the auto cropping feature or manually configure the cropping settings, set the image orientation, and specify the JPEG quality.
By default, the application saves the images to JPG file format and stores them in the same folder as the original files. You cannot pick the saving directory and specify a filename during the 2D creation process.
During our testing we have noticed that the tool accomplishes a task quickly and without errors throughout the entire process. It leaves a minimal footprint on system resources, so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered.
All things considered, Autostitch comes packed with limited features for helping you stitch JPG images in order to create 2D panoramic photos, and is suitable especially for less experienced users, as it doesn’t bundle advanced features.
