AVI 2 DVD & VCD

AVI 2 DVD & VCD is a simple-to-use application which enables you to convert video tracks from the AVI format to the MPG extension, for DVDs, VCDs and SCVDs.
The interface of the program is based on a standard window in which you have limited options at your disposal.
Video clips can be imported into the queue by using the file browser only, since the "drag and drop" method is not supported (and neither is batch processing).
Once you specify the output destination, you can proceed with the encoding process.
Furthermore, you can select the output type (PAL or NTSC), preview the clips in a small, built-in media player, as well as check out a log file.
The video conversion application runs on a moderate amount of system resources, quickly finishes a task and didn't freeze, crash or pop up errors during our tests. The image and sound are preserved at a very good quality.
On the other hand, the unregistered version is severely limited, with the biggest problem being the impossibility to batch-convert videos. Furthermore, there is no help file available and you cannot configure any kind of DVD options (e.g. title, menu) or program settings (e.g. enable AVI 2 DVD & VCD to automatically run at system startup or to start minimized to tray).
All in all, AVI 2 DVD & VCD is a pretty decent video converter but we suggest you look for something more advanced at the moment.
