Back4Win is a lightweight and straightforward application that helps users backup data stored in their computer to ZIP archives or EXE files.
This interface is divided into two main dialogs, with the first one offering quick access to the files and folders from your PC, while the second displays the configurable settings.
It is possible to keep your archived files private from unauthorized viewing by setting up passwords, include hidden files, save directory names, pick the compression level, and specify the disk size to suit CDR and CDRW media.
The program comes packed with backup solutions for enabling users to save the profiles and settings for Thunderbird and Firefox.
Back4Win gives you the possibility of picking a default saving directory. The archived files can be viewed and accessed directly from the primary panel of the program. You can perform tests to check the validity of the archived items, delete them or extract their content.
Another important feature worth mentioning is the EXE backup support, which helps you move data on other devices pretty easily without having to use decompression tools for extracting the information from ZIP files.
On the downside, it lacks a help manual with details about each configurable parameter, and doesn’t offer support for scheduling backup sessions.
All things considered, Back4Win is a backup software solution that comes packed with limited features, especially suitable for less experienced users. It cannot compete with other powerful tools on the market, as it doesn’t comprise many advanced features.
