That's why some creative companies and individuals designed different apps, some more sophisticated than others to protect your desktop from being accessed.

Set up the proper password using an accessible layout

Beast Lock! is a comprehensive yet approachable program that comes bundled with several customizations to help you lock your screen while you're away to enjoy your meal. The setup is uncomplicated and finished in a blink of an eye, and the interface is tidy and simple. It comes with two individual components, the configuration panel, and the actual locker. If you encounter problems, check if 'TABCTL32.OCX' is present in the destination folder.
Make sure you first set up all the necessary settings before launching the second utility, as you might end up with your desktop locked, an unknown key and with one choice: restarting your computer. It displays three different tabs, where you can choose the desired password and enable the locked window for which you can apply a default skin and a position.

Configure the layout's appearance the way you seem fit

In addition, you have the option to use screen overlay, pick the mode you want for your monitor, tint or image. For the first method, three color sliders are offered, along with opacity and a previewer. Regarding the picture mode, the tool lets you apply your favorite photo as a wallpaper, pick the position and the fill tint.
