BeatNik Internet Clock Description
Staying up to date with time is an important part of every activity. Windows tells time through a simple taskbar clock, but there are an abundance of third-party clocks available over the web. For instance, BeatNik Internet Clock aims to blend with any work environment, set up alarms, and always tell the exact time.
Various skins to choose from
Once installed and launched, a clock shows up on the desktop, sitting on top of every other window. This isn’t necessarily an inconvenience, especially since the clock takes up little desktop space. More than that, there are various skins you can choose from, grab from the web, or attempt to create your own through the skin factory.
All available operations are accessed through the context menu, or the tray menu, since there’s a tray icon to which the clock can be minimized. You can lock the position of the clock so it’s not accidentally moved, and even trigger a time checking function, but it’s recommended to have an active Internet connection for this to be possible.
Configurable alarms and time converter
Down over the preferences panel, you gain access to options for atomic clock synchronization, with the possibility to choose from a list of servers, and even connect via proxy. Display settings can be tweaked, with options to toggle between a 12 or 24 hour clock display, change font options, and a few more.
The application also comes with configurable alarms, which can be used on a regular basis. They use either default or custom audio alerts, and can show messages. You can have chimes trigger either hourly, half-hours, or quarterly. You also find a converter which helps determine time values according to BMP.
In conclusion
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that BeatNik Internet Clock is a cool desktop enhancement which can accurately tell time. Various tools help you set up reminders and alerts, while the converter easily helps tell time from BMP values.
