Biometrics for Remote Desktop Description
Biometrics for Remote Desktop is a software utility that enables you to redirect data recorded by local fingerprint scanners to another machine via a remote desktop session. It is designed to streamline the process and help you avoid complex workarounds.
An important aspect worth considering is the fact that the product consists of two components that need to be installed on the computer where the biometric scanners are connected and the remote machine that will handle the gathered data. Some brief instructions are provided during the installation process to help you figure out where you should set up each component.
Once the initial configuration has been completed, the application does not require you to enter additional details or change any advanced settings. Biometric devices are transferred automatically whenever you log in to a remote session, which means that programs reliant on fingerprint scanner input can function as if the device were connected directly to the remote machine.
No USB device drivers need to be installed on the remote side, thus getting around the issues some users face when attempting to utilize USB fingerprint scanners that are not designed to function in a Terminal Server environment.
Whenever more than one user is logged into the remote side when dealing with a multi-user environment, each device is isolated within an individual session to avoid allowing others to access sensitive data.
Biometrics for Remote Desktop supports multiple remote desktop protocols, including Microsoft RDP, Teradici PCoIP and Citrix ICA, and the full list of supported biometric devices can be found on the product’s homepage.System requirementsBiometric scanner
