Bit Calculator Description

If you often work with specific units for digital information, such as bits and bytes, then always doing the conversions can be tiring. Bit Calculator is a small tool that can come in handy on a daily basis.
The program has a compact interface where you can input the value you want to calculate. Also, the units can be picked from a drop-down menu.
Bit Calculator can convert between a wide range of units, namely bits, bytes, kilobits, kilobytes, megabits, megabytes, gigabits and gigabytes. Thus, if you input a value and choose bytes, for example, the app transforms the number and displays the resulting values for all the other units on the list.
If you need to use any of the results in a document, the program allows you to select and copy it to the Clipboard. From there, it can be pasted to all sorts of text editors.
However, before starting a conversion in the program you must choose the notation type. This can be done from a drop-down menu where there are two options: kilo = 1024 and 1000. The correct value depends on the context you use it in. The program further allows you to customize the way the values are displayed by choosing one of the two options for a decimal separator – period or comma.
The bottom line is that Bit Calculator can be an extremely useful tool if you often need to perform this type of conversions. Inexperienced users should find the app easy to use, thanks to its overall simplicity and the intuitive GUI.
