BlackScreen is a small software application whose sole purpose is to help you play pranks on your friends by making them believe that their computer doesn’t work properly. The tool is able to turn the screen completely black.

The advantages of being portable

Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.
You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to play jokes on your friends on the breeze, without having to go through installation steps.

How it works

BlackScreen doesn’t offer support for a graphical user interface in order to help you trigger the task. You need to manually open the EXE file and the screen is automatically turned black.
What’s more, the program is able to hide the desktop icons and mouse cursor, and you may restore the screen to its original state by pressing a predefined hotkey combination (ALT+F4).
On the downside, BlackScreen doesn’t disable the Task Manager so users may easily close the running process. It would have been useful to see support custom hotkeys.

Performance

Since it doesn’t require much computer knowledge to set up the dedicated parameters, even less experienced users can learn to master the entire process in no time. Tests have shown that BlackScreen carries out a task quickly and without errors. It leaves a minimal footprint on system resources, so the overall performance of the computer is not affected.
