Blaekbrd

Blaekbrd is an easy to use application which can turn your desktop into a large blackboard, for you to draw and write on. The program is simplistic, only allows you to draw with one type of pen, does not support creating shapes or typing characters. Instead, it can imitate writing on an actual blackboard, in school.

Educational tool for drawing

Blaekbrd allows you to draw on your desktop as if using a piece of chalk on the blackboard at school. Instead, you can use the mouse instead of a writing instrument and change the colors of the trail by pressing the number keys on the keyboard.
The program supports free form drawing, however, it does not allow you to create geometrical shapes, type characters or import any models. The application is as simple as it gets: you can draw by holding the left mouse button and erase by dragging the cursor with the right button held down.

Horizontal scrolling for clean boards

When you fill the desktop with too much writing, you can either erase it or press the left/right arrow keys in order to move onto a blank screen.
The drawback about this feature is that the program can automatically save anything you draw, so that you can view it every time you open Blaekbrd.
Moreover, when opened, the program displays the “first” screen you drew, so you need to scroll until you reach your most recent notes. Additionally, Blaekbrd does not allow you to export the drawings.

Tablet drawing practice

Blaekbrd can be a suitable alternative to drawing on the blackboard or on large pieces of paper. Moreover, it can be used by graphic artists as practice application for drawing with a digital pen on a tablet. It is a simple WYSIWYG application, without special features, except that you can change the pen colors.
