BuduSynchro Description
A simple file copy operation can easily be done through what Windows puts at your disposal. However, chances are you need to do this more often, and you can’t really spare any time to manually copy a bunch of files from one location to the other and wait for this to finish. Luckily, specialized applications like BuduSynchro make it possible to keep two folders updated with the same content.
Lightweight and easy to use
You’re free to check out the set of features right after a short and effortless setup process. A compact main window shows up on launch, with a few elements which make accommodation a walk in the park, because of general simplicity, and well organized structure. There’s no built-in documentation, but all function mostly speak for themselves.
Drag and drop is not supported, which means you need to work your way around with the browse dialogs for the source, and destination folders. Sure enough, one of them can be on a thumb drive in case you need to take specific files with you. Apart from target fields, there’s a log pane showing all process activity when initiated.
No built-in filter system or scheduler
There’s only one method of operation, which transfers files from the source to the destination. Sadly, you can’t set the application to mirror content, or quickly switch between selected locations. The process copies everything from the source, including subfolders and everything that’s inside, and all files successfully copied are shown in the activity pane.
Unfortunately, you need to make sure only files of interest are found in the source, because there’s no built-in function to apply filters, or exclude subfolders from being targeted as well. Although copying is done a bit faster than Windows does it, you need to manually initiate the sync process every time, because of the lack of a scheduler component.
In conclusion
All in all, BuduSynchro comes with good intentions, and manages to copy a bunch of files and folders from one place to the other in the blink of an eye. It’s simplicity in design might get you quickly up and running, but it also means you don’t get to benefit from many flexibility options, such as file filters, or possibility to automate the process.
