BUMP3R Description
Even in the times when most audio files can easily be accessed online, and in some cases even downloaded for free, they can still come written on media discs. However, a CD can easily get worn out after long periods of reading, but you can rely on specialized applications like BUMP3R in order to create backups and extract single songs.
Easily save all audio tracks as a large MP3 file
The application is capable of performing three different operations, but all of them rely on a backup, so that can be the first step. On the bright side of things, the entire operation, regardless of type, takes you through a wizard-driven interface with detailed descriptions, making it easy for individuals of all levels of experience to get the hang of things.
As mentioned, the first steps is to create a backup of the target audio CD. You can choose the source drive in case there are more, with the application displaying relevant information on existing tracks. Needless to say that you also need to specify a save location, as well as quality, since the result is a large MP3 file containing all tracks.
Extract songs and restore the backup
Note that the application doesn’t just bundle all tracks inside an MP3 file, but it also saves appropriate ID3 tags, and allows you to associate album covers, either from built-in content, an existing file, or a scanner. Don’t worry that all tracks are saved as a single file, because it’s possible to extract them.
Another operation is to extract custom tracks from a backup file. It is automatically fitted with appropriate ID3 tags, as well as a cover picture if you’re interested. The backup file doesn’t just make it possible to extract songs, but it can also be restored onto blank CDs.
On an ending note
All things considered, we can state that BUMP3R is a practical application if you want to create backup files of your existing audio discs, to prevent losing data entirely from physical damage to discs. Backup files can be used as a source to extract single songs, and even written back on new CDs.
