Most audio compositions are processed through specialized computer programs in order to reach the desired quality, and types of effects. All this work is greatly enhanced by various plugins, with CatDelay offering an intuitive set of controls in order to configure stereo delay, and apply various filters.
Since this isn’t a stand-alone product, the target computer needs to be fitted with an application like energyXT, which is capable of reading, and using all provided features. Integration is easy, and once the control panel shows up, knobs and sliders are made available to configure delay length, and intensity.
Changes are applied in real time for input sound, making it possible to tweak delay in live sessions, as well as when recording. It also comes in handy for creating effects, or fading loop sections, with a long enough value configured for the release knob.
General controls don’t include a volume slider. On the other hand, filtering, and buffering are applied by default, with corresponding knobs for adjusting low pass, and high pass cutoff values, as well as low pass filtering equalizer, while buffering benefits from reverse, bypass, and a clear buffer trigger to release sound as long as it’s held down.
As far as output channel management is concerned, both left and right are fitted with individual sets of controls. Wet and dry sliders help adjust specific mixture, while feedback determines the strength of captured sound.
