Supports numerous media formats

CatDV Standard can import various types of image, audio and video files. These include JPG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, MOV, MP4, WMV, AVI, DV and many more.
The application can extract EXIF data from photos taken with digital cameras, album and artist information from MP3 ID3 tags, as well as various types of metadata from video clips. This information can be edited and is stored in the CatDV catalog file.

Automatic scene detection

CatDV Standard offers a scene detection function, allowing you to easily create clips from a larger video file, without having to manually navigate to each scene cutoff point.
When indexing media files, the application can automatically create thumbnails for certain frames in each scene or from user-specified locations.

Create low-resolution preview versions of videos

The program offers a function that allows you to create a lower quality version of a source video file. This proxy file can be accessed if the original clip is not available for various reasons.
CatDV Standard also features a useful timecode calculator and enables you to add a burnt-in date and time display on your video files.
You can save clips to various formats, export catalogs to HTML, as well as print detailed reports of all selected clips, with or without thumbnails.
