CD Ripper

CD Ripper is a software utility designed to quickly rip audio CDs and turn the tracks into other formats, such as MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, AAC and FLAC. It features a few intuitive and handy features, such as volume normalization.

Quick install and intuitive GUI

The setup operation takes minimal effort to configure. In the interface department, CD Ripper adopts a standard window with a clear-cut layout, where you can get started by selecting the CD drive from a drop-down list. Buttons for opening and closing the optical disc tray are available.

Rip tracks in single or batch mode

Once the track list is loaded, you can select the items intended for conversion, or just process everything at once. Before triggering the task, though, it is possible to configure output options when it comes to the audio file type, along with saving directory and folder format.

Configure output settings

Furthermore, you can embed cover art in the output files (if available), apply volume normalization by accurately setting up the minimum or maximum peak level, as well as merge all files into a single track instead of processing them separately, with or without applying a user-defined amount of silence between the tracks.

Performance and conclusion

The app carries out ripping jobs very quickly while remaining light on the system resources. There were no issues throughout our evaluation, since it did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Thanks to its intuitive structure and overall simplicity, CD Ripper can be handled by all types of users, regardless of their previous experience with audio processing software.
