CDFS.VXD

CDFS.VXD is a Windows device driver designed to replace the driver for the CD-ROM devices in order to enable users to copy the audio files to their hard drives as WAV files. This can save disk space and time when you want to extract the audio files from an audio disc.
Many of the users who listen to audio CD’s need to transfer the music to the computer’s hard drive either to back up the tracks or to listen to them while working on their desktop. Unfortunately, some Windows versions do not provide the ability to simply copy the files.
In order to extract the audio track and convert it to a file that can be played by the computer you would need to use a CD ripper or another converter that can work with the CDA files saved on the disc.
This device driver changes allows you to view the tracks as WAV files which makes it easier to open them with a media player or use an audio converter to save them as MP3 files. If you want to save disk space you can open them directly from the disc.
The package includes the driver and brief installation instructions which enable you to use this tool in just a few minutes. However, before downloading the file you should know that the VxD driver that this utility is replacing is only supported by Windows 95, 98 and Me.
The good news is that if you are using a more recent Windows version, the ability to copy the files or to rip the CD audio tracks is provided by the Windows Media Player.
